We recently collaborated with the team from LEATHER HEAD SPORTS™ to create a custom Naismith Style Basketball with our BBJ Crossover Logo.
This tan leather basketball was designed to replicate the original style lace-up basketball that was used in the sport’s formative years.
Each ball is constructed of eight leather panels, and a tough rubber bladder. This ball is designed primarily for display, and not intended for the rigors of competitive play. Like any basketball, it can be dribbled and shot.
It is made from top quality, American tanned leather. Check out the photos of the team manufacturing our ball at the Leather Head Sports Headquarters. The basketball is available exclusively for purchase on our website. Photo Credit: Jessy Giordano / Source: Leather Head Sports.

Here’s an inside look with Paul Cunningham, Founder, Craftsman, and the man behind the brand LEATHER HEAD SPORTS based out of Glen Rock, NJ.  Check out this quick interview he did and see how one of their basketballs are made.  For more information about their brand, head to www.leatherheadsports.com.  Follow them on instagram @leatherheadsports.

I wanted to give a special shout out to our friend Tim Kerr (@movetk), whose artwork was commissioned by Nike for a new commercial starring the NBA’s Most Valuable Player, Kevin Durant (@easymoneysniper). You can see his illustrations wheat pasted onto the side of a building of famous ABA basketball stars Connie Hawkins, David Thompson, Spencer Haywood, Artis Gilmore, and George Gervin. In case you missed it, check out the video below at the 0:06 mark (Don’t blink – it’s right at the beginning).  Here’s a link to Tim’s website to check out his bio: www.timkerr.net.  Great job, Tim!

Check out this interview with my man Bobbito Garcia on the show, “Crowd Goes Wild” on Fox Sports 1.  It always seems to amaze me how much Bobbito knows.  It’s very inspiring to say the least, and it’s definitely an honor to work with such a talented person.  And to top it off, here he is representin’ BBJ on television.  Salute & Respect my brotha!!

My dude Bobbito Garcia always got something in the works.  Check out his new concept called Full Court 21 NYC.  It’s a new kind of basketball tournament, where there are no teammates…It’s just you against the world.  Peep out all the information including rules & registration on his website www.fullcourt21nyc.com.  Games will be held every Tuesday from July 30-August 27th at 6pm (Riverside Park, NYC).  Yo Bobbito, can we get something like this over here on the west side?!  Photo: Bobbito Garcia, 2010.

So we linked up with Footlong Development to host a special screening for Bobbito Garcia and Kevin Couliau’s documentary Doin’ It In The Park: Pick-Up Basketball, NYC on May 18th, 2013.  The “Sold Out” screening was held at Laemmle’s Music Hall in Beverly Hills with a special guest appearance from the man himself, Bobbito Garcia aka Kool Bob Love.  The stage was set, the venue was poppin’, the crowd was hyped and the film…WAS DOPE!!!  Read more
