Hana Asano – The first time I cried was because my older brother beat me in one on one. From then on, basketball has always been my first love. I’m a washed up college hoops player, turned photographer. When I had a bad game, picking up my 35mm was my outlet to making the world make sense again. And when I graduated and hung up my kicks, capturing the beauty of hoops made retiring from the game an easy transition. There is so much beauty in this game. Whether I was playing on the blacktops or in the NCAA March Madness tournament, I wanted to be no where else, but there. Life becomes so simple. Nothing else matters. Put the ball in the hoop, play some defense, and win. I’ll always love that feeling. Ball is, and will always be life.
